Matthew Johnson

Matthew Johnson, affectionately known as Matty J, rose to fame as the fifth leading man on The Bachelor where he swept his now wife, Laura Byrne, off her feet. Since finding love in the most unconventional way, they’ve welcomed two beautiful girls to their growing brood – Marlie-Mae and Lola.      

Even though Matty J started his career in marketing, working with top agencies in Sydney and London, he’s felt right at home in front of the camera. His TV hosting work has included The Living Room, which saw him nominated for a TV Week Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent, international travel series, Luxury Escapes TV series and regular guest-host on Studio 10. No stranger to reality TV, Matty J pirouetted his way back onto the small screen in Dancing With The Stars All Stars.  More recently, Matty has been travelling the country filling in presenting the weather on Weekend Today show, he also hosted the Channel 7 coverage of the 2023 Logies red-carpet with wife Laura. 

These days when he’s not busy changing nappies or walking his three-legged dog Buster, you can find Matty J entertaining his 465k strong followers on social media with his hilarious parent-related skits. Content that had him crowned the country’s Best Creator on Instagram at the inaugural AiMCO Awards last year.  In 2023 Matty stepped into the podcast realm launching ‘Two Doting Dads’, with fellow father, comedian and friend, Ash Wicks – it wasn’t long before ‘Two Doting Dads’ was picked up by ARN to join their iHeartRadio Podcast Network. 

Matty’s hilarious and creative way of connecting with his audience, has also made him a highly in demand content creator for a number of national brands, including The Iconic, Destination NSW, Amazon Prime & AfterPay.
