They are the poster family for the 9 Network’s smash hit Travel Guides but at home the Fren Family are ….the Fren Family. What you see is what you get – fun, authentic, organic hilarity, unscripted engagement and a team.
2022 saw the Fren’s become Logie winners, when the cast of Travel Guides won Most Popular Lifestyle Program at the 62nd TV Week Logie Awards. Going from strength to strength, these audience favourites will be in their sixth season of Travel Guides in 2023.
Their teamwork and sense of humour has always steered them through every challenge professionally, and to take a holiday from their work-life… well nothing really changes. They always find the funny side of any holiday disaster and they cling together or call each out to other make the most of every moment.
In 2023 the Fren’s collaborated with Travel Money Oz and Tourism Vanuatu across their Instagram page, which now has a very loyal 100K plus followers, who adore the hilarious content they create together.
The Fren’s are:
Mark the Dad. When on holiday (and in life) he loves to negotiate upgrades of any kind, but more importantly for 30 years he has been happily married to Cathy.
Both are former school teachers.
Cathy the mum. She has a quirky sense of humour and a distinctive laugh that is contagious. She jokes that marrying Mark was probably the “tenth best thing to happen in my life”.
She might be right, but Victoria is probably best to ask.
Victoria is the daughter. She is studying Law and is always ready to voice an opinion and to protect or dissect her family.
Jonathon is the Son. He’s a bit more reserved and always goes with the family flow. But now he a married man, so the family story is set to become a bit bigger.
