Leisel Jones became a household name at just 15 years old as the youngest member of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Australian swimming team. She went on to become one of Australia’s most decorated athletes, winning seven World Championship titles, nine Olympic medals, 10 Commonwealth Games gold medals, 14 individual world records and 23 national titles — cementing her legacy as one of the greatest female swimmers of all time.

Leisel’s sporting journey is one of resilience and determination. After debuting at the Olympics as a teenager and overcoming significant setbacks throughout her career, she achieved her lifelong dream at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games by winning individual Olympic gold in the 100m breaststroke. She also claimed gold in the 4x100m medley relay and silver in the 200m breaststroke.

At her fourth and final Olympics in 2012 London Olympic Games, Leisel finished her career on a high with a silver medal in the 4x100m medley relay, becoming the first Australian swimmer to compete at four Olympic Games.

Since retiring from competitive swimming, Leisel has continued to thrive across media and entertainment. She released her memoir Body Lengths, hosted Network 10’s coverage of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and joined the Seven Network as an expert swimming commentator for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Today, Leisel brings her trademark warmth, humour and honesty to the airwaves as co-host of the Gold Coast Breakfast show on Triple M.

Out of the pool, Leisel has built an impressive media career as a broadcaster, commentator, host and speaker, known for her engaging personality and relatable storytelling. Her extensive television and media experience spans live sport commentary, interviews, entertainment and major event hosting.

Leisel is also an ambassador for Experience Gold Coast and Juniper, partnering with brands that align with her values around lifestyle, wellbeing and connection.
