Flick Palmateer is an internationally renowned surfer, record-breaking big wave charger, ocean advocate, podcaster and TV presenter. Celebrated for her fearless approach to the world’s most powerful waves, she has carved out a reputation as one of Australia’s most accomplished surfers, constantly pushing the limits of what’s possible in both competition and exploration.
A 2024/2025 Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational invitee and competitor, Flick was named Red Bull Magnitude’s Breakthrough Performer in 2022/23, and in 2015, made history as the first female to surf the remote WA reef break, Cow Bombie.
Beyond the water, Flick co-hosts the podcast; “In Deep” with fellow big wave surfer Laura Enever – a raw relatable podcast that resonates deeply with women, diving into mindset, resilience, and the highs & lows of pushing limits. In 2025, Flick was named one of the presenters of Channel 9’s newest lifestyle show ’TopKnotz’, alongside Grant Denyer, Miguel Maestre, Rob Palmer and Tom Williams. The series follows the five fearless hosts travel the world, as they dive headfirst into the world of marine leisure, tackle extreme challenges and wild stunts.
Flick Palmateer is also a WSL commentator, and two-time Australian Survivor competitor (Heroes v Villains & Brains v Braun series). Flick has a magnetic on-screen presence and a natural ability to engage audiences, which is why she’s so sought after to work with major brands such as Billabong, L’Oreal, Lululemon, Air New Zealand, Corona, Dive Surf n’Ski to name a few.
An absolute force of nature, whether she is chasing giant waves, leading conversations, or advocating for causes close to her hear, Flick continues to inspire and lead by example. Flick is also a dedicated ambassador for Dementia Australia.
