Ruby O’Kelly was born in Melbourne, hailing from a large Irish family. Competing with 30 first cousins for attention, Ruby’s passion for the performing arts blossomed at a young age. At the age of 10, she shot her first commercial with the late Steve Irwin who gave her some legendary advice. “Don’t just hang out with the actors, talk to everybody on set, be grateful, be humble and the DOP is your best friend!” This advice shaped Ruby’s attitude and strong work ethic as an actor.

After completing high school, Ruby’s dedication led her to be accepted into the acclaimed acting program at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Ruby’s screen credits include STAN’s critically acclaimed series “Totally Completely Fine” and Hoodlum Entertainment’s “Harrow” Season 2. Ruby plays various roles in Amazon Prime’s “The Moth Effect,” GPTV’s “Cleverman” Season 1, and is in various sketches on “The Chaser’s War on 2020.” Ruby has also made appearances in the Dead Daisies music video “Song and a Prayer” and ABC’s “Fresh Blood Pilot Week.”  While Ruby’s acting skill encompasses a love for both comedic and dramatic roles, she has a particular fondness for comedic performances. This is evident in her regular appearances in SBS comedic sketches on “The Feed.”

Her theatre credits include: Claryssa in ATYP’s production of MOTH, Juliet in SheShakespeare’s ROMEO & JULIET and two consecutive years of touring nationally for Echelon Productions ‘What’s the Matter- Science Week’ and ‘STEMANIA- Science Week.’
