David Whitehill is an Australian travel presenter, producer and storyteller known for helping audiences see the world with greater perspective, connection and curiosity.

A familiar face to Australian viewers, David is a presenter on Australia’s iconic travel program Getaway and a regular contributor across the Nine Network, including appearances on the Today Show and his own travel series “Journey to…”. Over the past two decades he has travelled the globe uncovering remarkable destinations, cultures and wildlife, sharing stories that inspire audiences to explore the world.

Behind the camera, David is also the founder of travel production company Proud Nomads, which produces premium travel and lifestyle content for broadcasters, tourism boards and global brands. Through Proud Nomads, David has collaborated with some of the world’s most respected travel organisations and tourism authorities, helping them connect their stories with audiences in Australia and around the world.

Throughout his career David has worked alongside many of the world’s most prominent brands including Singapore AirlinesPatek PhilippeQantasScenic Luxury Cruises & ToursWorld Wide Fund for NatureING Direct, Pepsi and Tourism Australia. His work blends authentic storytelling with cinematic production, helping destinations and brands communicate not just where people should travel, but why those places matter.

David’s path into television is as unique as the stories he tells. Before stepping in front of the camera he worked as a Dolphin Trainer at Sea World, where he developed a lifelong fascination with wildlife and the natural world. During this time he was named Cleo Bachelor of the Year, appearing on the magazine cover alongside one of his dolphins – a story that later became a nationally broadcast television special.

That same curiosity has since taken him to every continent, filming travel and lifestyle stories around the world.

His early television career saw him host the Nine Network’s national children’s program Hot Source, filming more than 400 episodes. He later went on to host the highly successful music program So Fresh, interviewing international artists at major events including the ARIA Awards, Teen Choice Awards and the MTV Music Awards.

David also became a familiar presence on Mornings with Kerri-Anne Kennerley, where he reported on everything from travel and wildlife to live broadcasts across Europe and the United States. His natural warmth, curiosity and ability to connect with people quickly made him a favourite with audiences.

Today David continues to work both in front of and behind the camera, producing travel content seen by millions of viewers while collaborating with tourism organisations and global brands to tell meaningful stories about people, culture and place.

At the heart of his work is a simple belief: travel is the most powerful way we can expand our perspective, and connect with the world around us.

Away from filming, David is also a incredibly proud father of two young children – and occasionally admits that a few of his old dolphin-training techniques still come in handy at home.
