As a child growing up in Launceston Tasmania, Tom wanted to be a character in The Lord of the Rings, when he saw that this was somehow possible, he decided to become an actor. After performing in independent productions, self devised works and stand up, Tom applied to the Victorian College of the Arts and was accepted to commence his studies in 2015
Tom’s credits at the VCA include Cook in Mother Courage (dir. Chris Kohn), Brett in The Boys (dir. Alister Smith) and Vershinin in Three Sisters (dir. Melanie Beddie). He recently co-devised and performed in NINETEEN NINETY-NINE for Melbourne Fringe 2017, and also performed in Pichet Klunchun’s Dancing with Death for the AsiaTOPA festival 2017. In 2016, Tom was the recipient of both the Lionel Gell Scholarship and the Pratt Bursary, both of which are awarded for excellence in Theatre at the VCA. Tom has also studied at Monash University and The National Theatre Drama School.
